DONNIE WINGO (Crew Chief No. 42 Havoline Dodge Intrepid)

"When he gets that feel, he's good to go!"

Zoomster questions by Debbie:

How do you relate with your young driver?

"So far, he's been great...everything clicks along. We've been together long enough now that I can kind of read what's going on in his mind or what he wants to do. So far his feedback has been as good or better then any driver I've worked with. The biggest thing is that he knows what he wants to feel at certain areas of the race track. When he gets that feel, he's good to go!"

The pit box and pit area have many tools for the crew to do it's job. What tools are most important to you?

"As far as the pit box and pit area I would say the crew getting the job done is the biggest tool that you have on race day. Making the right adjustments and the scoring monitor, you can really see now versus what you used to have to do. We used to have to clock a lot of different cars. You can actually see the time difference now. That's what we'd tell him. When he'd start up front and fall back five spots, it would take 15-20 laps and after that he was three tenths quicker than anybody. That's what hurt us last Sunday. We just weren't good enough on the short go."
