Flags fly high in NASCAR and at Darlington, especially in and over the infield, because fan spirits flutter in the wind at equal heights.   Join these Clearwater, Florida infield fans as I ask a few fan-friendly questions. One question I didn't ask was...Can you estimate how many NASCAR fans would like to be where you are today? I asked more of one Clearwater guy who was a part of a group that traveled far.  

How many NASCAR races have you attended?

"About thirty."

What do you like best about NASCAR races?

"The excitement...and no fear!"

How far did you drive to get here today?

"450 miles. Nine hours."

Who is your favorite driver?

"The late great Dale Earnhardt."

Do you plan on attending any other NASCAR events this year?

"Talladega"

Have you ever raced on a track?

"I've never been on a track. I will some day."

Would you like to drive that fast?

"No problem."

Are you having fun?

"All the time!"
