Gary Larsen calls the Beatles and George Harrison " The Sound Track of My life." for good reason.
George Harrison died, his music didn't. Decades ago, the Beatles gave us hope and fresh tunes to face drab or bright days. Those who weren't there to feel the vibrant difference of this legendary group can't feel the full force of that edge, that inspiration. Still, they can enjoy the music. Those who grew with the Beatles and George Harrison know that nothing before was equal, and nothing after was better. After them, music was only more wonderful.
We pause to honor the cool quiet one. Without George Harrison and the Beatles we believe the world would still be so far from melody that we would need years to catch up to where we are. It seems George Harrison and his elite group were always beyond the edge of known music.
Even silence is better for his presence, even after his passing, for there is no better vocal moment than the aftermath of sweet sound…that last second...the crisp cessation of a great tune. Many great notes point to a life well spent. Many days after will call for 'Here Comes The Sun'...
May the sun always rise for great music.
