Daytona International Speedway hosts NASCAR’s biggest race of the season, the first race, and it’s fitting that a media day for the event is huge too. Zoomster.com was there to confirm that those moments are comprehensive, hurried and frenetic at times. Swarms of dedicated media folks gather to seek the first words and images of a new season.
A fan might understand the surge of requests for NASCAR driver time, because they seek that time for proximity and an autograph. The media seeks that driver time for what we consider a more precious commodity. Words. Images. We are proud to bring you fresh words and images from a seasoned NASCAR competitor – Kevin Harvick.
Harvick has the fire to drive as do all drivers at this level, but it’s certain that he will speak his truth without fear and sometimes that fire can be sparked by spontaneous focus. Harvick is more than one or two moments in the past, as we all are, he is a product of his past and a bearer of his future. He brings the evidence of both to Zoomster.com with the courtesy and clarity of his words.
“Probably fire.”
You race NASCAR Busch Series and Nextel Cup Series. Do you feel this experience helps you and does it keep your senses keener by being on the track more often? “We do it for the track time and that’s the main reason why we do it. A lot of the setup stuff, there’s a little bit you can relate back and forth, but the trend has definitely changed since 2001 when we went back and forth and ran both schedules and things like that. Everybody was scared to death. A few owners wouldn’t let the drivers run in the Busch Series and now it’s the total opposite, so it’s definitely worth doing.” “Probably fire.” “You just need to go through the right ranks of the sport. Don’t go too fast through one rank and skip another.” |
